Results Are In; Atlanta Braves Most Memorable Moment of Last 50 Years Announced

Drum Roll, Please

The Atlanta Braves made a big announcement today. One that had been long awaited. An announcement for the ages … Well, at least the last 50 years anyway.

OK, so maybe it isn’t that BIG of an announcement. That one came earlier today when the Braves named John Coppolella as the new General Manager.

No, the announcement I’m referring to in this case, is the conclusion of the Twitter vote the Braves PR Dept. had been pushing, as did we at the Take.

That’s right. After long awaited months, the winner of the most memorable moment in Atlanta Braves history was the 1995 World Series win against the Cleveland Indians.

The announcement should come as no surprise, really. After all, it was the first championship, in any major sport, in Atlanta. Unless you count Evander Holyfield’s Heavyweight title (he is from Atlanta).

The added bonus of it being the third in franchise history was just as cool. The cool part being that the Braves are the only team to win in three different cities. Boston, Milwaukee, and Atlanta.

So to everyone who voted for the 1995 World Series winners, congratulations. Relish in your victory. Throw back a couple celebratory adult beverages. Here’s to hoping the next 50 are filled with more moments like these … with a few more championships though.

Keep on Choppin’ Braves Country!
