Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves defeated the Washington Nationals on Tuesday evening to climb to 63-94 for the 2015 season and they eliminated the chances of losing triple-digit games. The Braves offense relied on A.J. Pierzynski’s two homers and Matt Wisler’s great performance on the mound. Wisler has been a bright spot for the Braves in late September as he hopes to claim a spot in the starting rotation in 2016.

Colby Wilson’s Atlanta Braves Report: Atlanta or the Fish?
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Right now, it’s tough to find something compelling to write about the Braves. A few sites are writing about the comparisons of the Braves and other teams in the NL East at where they are currently and where they can be in the future. As I wrote yesterday, the Braves can’t go any further south than what they are now. Atlanta is on the upswing, the Phillies are in clear rebuild mode and won’t be good for a while, the Mets spent all the money this season but could still be good for a few years, Washington who the heck knows, but can’t continue to spend offseason money and play like this, and Miami who should be on the rise like the Braves.
"For my money, the better question is whether Atlanta or Miami—two young, talented teams in mid-tier markets with front office approaches that can charitably be called ‘different’ and managerial situations that would be best described with four-letter words not suitable for a family website—are in better shape.Starting at the top, the Braves actually have the managerial and front-office edge—Dan Jennings is not going to be retained (one assumes), and the Marlins best manager since 2007 was…well, this is awkward: Fredi Gonzalez. Yep, since Fredi was canned in 2010, Miami has been helmed by Edwin Rodriguez, Jack McKeon, Ozzie Guillen, Mike Redmond and Jennings (combined record: 381-492). Compared to that, Fredi (276-279 in the Sunshine State) is alright.And regardless of what one thinks of John Hart and how he chooses to spend Liberty Media’s money and resources, he is not Jeffrey Loria or whatever talking sock puppet Loria has hired as general manager; a win by default is still a win."
Author: Braves should embrace Ty Cobb and his statue
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: If you’ve visited Turner Field, you’ve probably noticed the Ty Cobb statue outside of the ball park. Right now, This statue is going to stay right where it’s at and not move with the new stadium. Reports are coming out that the Braves do not intend to move this because they don’t own the statue. The other statues that will travel to the new stadium are the ones of Hank Aaron, Warren Spahn and Phil Niekro.
"Of the four statues outside Turner Field, there is only one the Atlanta Braves say they don’t intend to take to their new stadium in Cobb County: It’s the statue of Ty Cobb. The Braves say the reason is because the Braves don’t own the statue.But Charles Leehrsen says he suspects Cobb’s mythology is part of it. Leehrsen published a book this year that debunks much of the accepted biography of Cobb County.“He wasn’t a saint by any means,” Leehrsen said in an interview with 11Alive News. “He was a tough guy and a fierce competitor. But he was not the racist and spikes-flashing maniac he’s portrayed to be.”"
