Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies Battling On and Off The Field

The Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies are in the middle of a three-game series of battle to see who the worst team is in the MLB.  The Braves won game one of the series 7-2 behind great and timely hitting…Atlanta totaled 12 hits.

Game two didn’t go as well for the Braves. Though youngster, Ryan Weber made a tremendous first MLB start, he allowed two runs on four hits and let the Phillies win 5-0.

The Braves are now 55-84 for the season while the Phillies are 54-85…yes, the two worst records.

Prior to Tuesday’s game, a few of the Braves players played a little prank at the field on the Phillie Phanatic.  They stole his keys to his 4-runner and wouldn’t give them back to him until he did the famous Tomahawk Chop.

This was however after the Phanatic pretended the Braves bullpen staff was bowling balls.

Andrelton Simmons eventually gave the keys back to the mascot, but not until he did a few chops for some laughs.

After these shenanigans and play on the field got started, the teams social media accounts exchanged a few pretty hilarious tweets back and forth.

Though the Braves lost the battle on the field, I’m pretty sure they won the social media war!

The Braves and Phillies are back at it Wednesday at 7:05pm ET.  Julio Teheran will be on the mound for the Braves while David Buchanan is on the bump for the Phillies.
