Danville Braves (30-32)

Monday

Danville scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to defeat Johnson City 4-3. Daniel Cordero got the start for the Braves, throwing 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and striking out 3. Austin Riley had two singles and a walk. Ronald Acuna had a single and two walks. Ray-Patrick Didder and Juan Yepez each had a single and a walk. Trey Keegan added a double.

Tuesday

Danville jumped out to a 7-0 lead after 4 innings and held on to win 8-4 on Tuesday. Matt Withrow had a tremendous start, allowing 2 unearned runs over 4 2/3 innings on 2 hits, striking out 8. Austin Riley had two doubles and a single, driving in 3 runs. Jose Morel had a triple and two singles. Jeff Campbell had two singles and a walk. Ray-Patrick Didder had a single and a double. Ronald Acuna had two singles.

Wednesday

Burlington piled onto Alec Grosser and held on to defeat Danville 4-3. Ryan Clark got the start and went 4 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits. Grosser, in his first appearance since being demoted to Danville, threw one inning, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on a hit and a walk, while striking out 2 hitters. Juan Yepez had a big day with 3 hits, including 2 doubles. Austin Riley added a double, and Justin Ellison stole his first base of the season.
