Atlanta Braves’ John Coppolella on Brewers Radar for GM Gig

The Atlanta Braves rumor mill is swirling again. This time though, it has absolutely nothing to do with a player.

ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick reported today, via Twitter, that the Milwaukee Brewers are reportedly interested in Braves GM heir apparent, John Coppolella.

Of note, there are many other names being floated about. However, Coppy has the traits highly coveted by the Brewers organization.

Regardless of whether Coppolella is selected or not, it still has to make some a little uneasy. Going into Spring Training, it was inferred that Coppolella was to learn the tricks of the trade under John Hart and take the helm as the Braves entered into SunTrust Park by 2017. For now, that still remains the plan, albeit a soft plan though it seems.

More from Braves Rumors

This is all, at the moment, highly speculative. Yes, Coppy is under contract, and would require permission from the Braves organization to even engage in discussions. Yet, we all thought that Craig Kimbrel was going nowhere and a no-brainer to stay put, didn’t we? Still, on the eve of opening day, he was gone.

Nothing in this game is for certain, nor is anything impossible.
