Mike Foltynewicz didn’t really have it tonight, but the Braves offense wouldn’t take “no” for an answer tonight… even up through the very end.
The San Francisco Giants posted 2 runs in three of the first four innings against Foltynewicz, who finally ended up getting some traction – lasting through the sixth frame tonight. But four homers and 9 hits made for an ugly line for him, which included no strikeouts on the evening.
Not Again…

The biggest blow of the night against Atlanta may have come while down 6-0 in the fifth inning, when Freddie Freeman made a swing that finished awkwardly, complete with a painful grimace. The fear was that he had re-injured the wrist that had him on the shelf for five weeks in June and July.
The reality was… maybe only slightly better. Thus far, the diagnosis is an oblique injury, making him day-to-day. However, these things are often a 3-4 week affair, depending on the actual severity. Likely, we’ll hear more tomorrow.
But this only adds to the short-handedness of the Braves right now: Andrelton Simmons is already ailing with the sprained thumb he suffered in Sunday’s win over Philadelphia. He is reportedly “better” today, but likely will still be out for at least a couple of more days.
