Thursday

Gwinnett bats couldn’t do anything with Twins top prospect Jose Berrios as they were shut out by Rochester 4-0 on Thursday. Mike Foltynewicz got the start for the Braves, going 6 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6. Eric Young, Jr. was the only Brave on base twice with a single and a walk. Jose Peraza had his 17th error on the season, though interestingly it was a fielding error rather than a throwing error.

Friday

Gwinnett used a 3-run 8th inning to secure the win over Charlotte 6-3 on Friday. Sugar Ray Marimon got the start and went 3 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits while striking out 2. Cedric Hunter had 3 singles and a walk on the day. Mallex Smith had two singles and a walk and stole his 9th base of the year for Gwinnett. Jose Yepez had 2 singles. Jose Peraza and Eric Young, Jr. each had a single and a walk.

Saturday

Gwinnett got the win on Saturday over Charlotte, 5-2. Kanekoa Texeira had a solid start, throwing 6 innings, allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6. Todd Cunningham had two hits, including a double, and stole his 8th base of the year. Mallex Smith had a single and two walks and stole two bases. Jose Peraza had two singles on the day.

Sunday

Despite a late surge from Charlotte, Gwinnett pulled out the win on Sunday, 5-3. Williams Perez pitched brilliantly, throwing 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing only 1 hit and striking out 5. Barrett Kleinknecht had two hits, including a home run. Todd Cunningham had a double and a walk. Cedric Hunter had two singles and a walk and stole his 5th base of the season. Sean Kazmar had two singles and a steal. Mallex Smith added his 12th steal of the season for Gwinnett.
