Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The Atlanta Braves defeated the Dodgers on Tuesday night and are 3-2 since the All-Star break.  The Braves will go for the sweep of the Dodgers on Wednesday starting at 12:10pm.  The Braves are currently 45-49 on the 2015 season and could still be in contention for the playoffs.  Atlanta is now six games back in the NL East and a Wild Card spot.  On Tuesday, the Braves had 10 hits and five walks, but could only score four runs.  Chris Johnson went 3-4 and Jim Johnson got his eighth save of the season…both Johnson’s could be traded very shortly.

En Route to Cooperstown, John Smoltz Unveils Atlanta Digs

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: Get a birds-eye view of Atlanta Braves great, John Smoltz’s, home as a new series will give you a peak of what baseball superstars’ homes look like on the inside and outside.  On Sunday, Smoltz and the MLB Hall of Fame will reveal his plague in Cooperstown, New York.  Smoltz’s house has golf holes, a theater, and many other amenities.

"Atlanta Braves legend and broadcaster John Smoltz is set to be immortalized in Cooperstown this weekend, but first he’s staring in a YouTube video that provides a glimpse into his latest metro Atlanta digs. The video tour of Smoltzie’s crib is part of a 14-week series compiled by Coldwell Banker that offers behind-the-scenes peeks at baseball stars’ houses. It never specifies where the house is exactly, but Smoltz provides his logic for loving the place, which looks like a brick-built Tudor on PEDs: It’s big enough to host all of Smoltz’s extended family for Thanksgiving and Christmas, he says, and includes a nine-tee golf course in the yard. “If I’m not on a tractor or lawnmower,” Smoltz divulges, “I like being in the theater,” where the door handles are made of baseball bats inscribed with some random player’s name.Judging by the video, Smoltz’s current domicile is waymore humble than the monstrous, 18,000-square-foot Alpharetta mansion he used to live in, which was listed in 2012 for more than $7 million."

Five logical teams for Cueto, Mets’ targets and more MLB trade buzz

Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: The days are dwindling until the trade deadline and the Braves haven’t made any moves yet.  July 31st is the final day for MLB teams to make any trades and it’s usually a very busy couple days.  The Braves will look to move multiple players prior to the deadline – Chris Johnson, Jim Johnson, Juan Uribe, to name a few.

"Atlanta was smart to start its sale months ahead of time, as it received quite a haul for Craig Kimbrel, Jason Heyward and Justin Upton. Now it has more bits and pieces to sell. Juan Uribe is on the block, and he’s been offered for a mid-range prospect so long as the acquiring team pays the $3 million or so remaining (or better prospect if the Braves chip in dough). They’ve talked to the Mets. The Pirates, Nationals or his old Giants team could also make sense, though he’d have to be a role player in San Francisco this time."
