Atlanta we have a winner!

During the All-Star voting process, MLB and Esurance sponsored a little sweepstakes that most of us probably ignored as we voted on our favorite player 10 times a day; 120 times if you are a Kansas City Royals fan.

During the voting rounds, you were permitted to enter the sweepstakes with the chance of winning the following:

  1. Round trip, coach-class flight to/from major airport nearest Winner’s residence and Cincinnati, OH for Winner and one (1) guest;
  2. Four (4) night stay for Winner and one (1) guest in a hotel of Sponsor’s choosing in Cincinnati, OH (one (1) standard room, double occupancy);
  3. One (1) MLB Club jersey and tech swag to be determined by Sponsor at its sole discretion; and
  4. Two (2) tickets for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game for Winner and one (1) guest.

PRIZES DO NOT INCLUDE ANY EVENT-RELATED EXPENSES, SUCH AS GROUND TRANSPORTATION, NOT DETAILED HEREIN. ANY SUCH EXPENSE WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH WINNER.

There was one (1) winner chosen to represent each MLB team. Just one… out of the MILLIONS of entries “There can be only one (highlander voice)”.

The Atlanta Braves winner just happens to be a fellow member of the GREATEST Facebook Group on the planet #ChopOnDamnIt.

Meet Christie Love Lysdale.

Christie is a super fan. She knows Braves baseball better than the average fan and loves to talk baseball. This trip is perfect for her.

The rules also permitted Christie to bring a guest to partake in the festivities so she decided to bring her best friend FOR LIFE Karen with her.

Although most of us are still watching “regular” baseball, the festivities for Christie have already begun. In fact she started celebrating (and rubbing it in my face) almost 2 weeks ago when she received the following email:

Since then, the excitement has been building leading up to THE day (Friday). Despite countless begging from other group members and bartering of services (some legal, some not-so-much) the day finally came for her and her pal to hit the skies and join the other 30 privileged people in participating in these grand events.

On Saturday she traveled from her home, made a quick pit-stop in the city of brotherly love and then landed in Cincinnati where she was greeted with all of the fanfare and swag complements of Esurance and MLB.

After a big day of taking in a few sites, sounds and eats, she stated that “each day is filled with one event after another”, from meeting legends of the game, watching the futures game, attending the celebrity softball game and bumping elbows and chatting with some of games favorites and ambassadors.

Attached are a few of the images that she has shared and she has promised to recap us all on her activities daily.

Stay tuned, this should be a fun ride.
