Mississippi Braves (35-37, 2-2 in 2nd half)

Thursday

Pensacola got to Mississippi starter Greg Ross early Thursday and held on to win 9-3. Ross gave up 6 runs over 4 innings, allowing 8 hits and a walk while striking out 2. Sean Godfrey was on base 3 times with two singles and a walk. Emerson Landoni and Matt Kennelly each had a hit and a walk, with Kennelly’s hit being a double.

Friday

Mississippi joined Gwinnett with a 1-0 victory on Friday. Victor Mateo threw 6 scoreless innings, allowing 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5 to pick up his 4th win. No M-Brave was on base multiple times on the day, but Matt Lipka stole his 9th base and drove in the game’s only run.

Saturday

Another game, another 1-0 game as Pensacola defeated the M-Braves on Saturday. Jorge Reyes gave the Braves a solid start, going 5 scoreless innings, scattering 6 hits and striking out 2. Matt Lipka and Rio Ruiz were the only two Mississippi hitters to get on base twice. Ruiz had two walks while Lipka had two singles and a stolen base.

Sunday

Mississippi finished their weekend strong with a win over Pensacola 3-1. Tyrell Jenkins got the start and went 5 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 5 walks while striking out 6. Emerson Landoni had two hits, including a triple. Rio Ruiz and Matt Lipka each had a single and a walk, and Lipka stole his 11th base of the season.
