If you look at a few players from around the Atlanta, Georgia area you might want to become familiar with names like – Tucker, Randolph, Hillman, Jahmai Jones, Mountcastle, Smith, Alonzo Jones, Reyes, Brown,
McKenzie, English, Chatfield, Neidert, Szapucki.
One thing strange that I noticed from this list is Tyler Stephenson wasn’t even listed. This catcher from Georgia has been linked to the Braves recently, but could go in the top 10 and probably will be selected before the Braves pick.
MLB has published their last mock draft and with the #14 pick they have the Braves selecting Cornelius Randolph. Not the pitching arm, but looks to be a very solid middle infielder with a good bat. Randolph falls to the Braves, they will probably pick him. Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports is saying that Randolph will sign for $2.4M after asking $4M all spring.
We will see in a few hours who the Braves go with, but expect pitching, high school players, prospects that are athletic who can play multiple positions and kids that are originally located from around the Georgia area.
Check out Fred’s report from June 6th, it takes you through all the rumors and prospects the Braves could possible select.
