Last night’s Simba Slide had two immediate effects: it bailed out Andrelton Simmons on an ill-advised attempt to advance to third base on Doug Fister‘s errant pickoff throw. It also brought Dan Uggla into the game to replace the injured Yunel Escobar. When this happened the few actually in attendance rained a chorus of boos upon the slugger.
This morning, several have made it a point to go to bat in support of the one-time All-Star (3 times):
