Not another issue with Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Minor, right?!?
Well, the answer to that question is yes. It was announced Wednesday afternoon that Mike Minor will miss his first planned start of the 2015 Spring Training because of shoulder tightness in his throwing shoulder.

#Braves said Minor has been healthy in camp until feeling tightness Tuesday, and that he's been held out Sunday for precautionary reasons.

This is very unfortunate for the Braves, Minor and fans as we all were hoping he could find his groove from the 2013 season. That year, he went 13-9 with a 3.21 ERA in 32 games started. He also threw 204.2 innings and had a 1.090 WHIP. 2014 started off rough for Minor when he had offseason surgery to a personal section and then arm issues leading into the season. He went 6-12 with a 4.77 ERA in only 25 games started.

Now, 27-years-old Minor was looking to be the veteran of the pitching staff for the 2015 season. Hopefully this is only a small setback for him. Shoulder soreness happens often early in the spring time as some haven’t gotten into the rhythm yet. Not wanting to be spectacle but that brings me to this point – Minor may not have prepared his body for this season the way we all hoped.
The Braves currently have three guys fighting for the last opening rotation spot – Wandy Rodriguez, Michael Foltynewicz and Eric Stults. If Minor needs to miss any extended period of time, it will be nice having these guys there in place to fill in.
It has been reported by Braves beat writer that Minor will get his shoulder checked out. This will probably happen sooner then later. Once we hear the news, we’ll fill you in.
