Braves interested in trading for Jackie Bradley Jr.
Tomahawk Take Editor’s Note: This offseason, the Atlanta Braves did every thing they could to bolster their positions where the front office thought they needed to. Centerfield is the obvious position where most fans are going to argue needs an upgrade. Our current centerfielder, B.J. Upton, hasn’t been on par since arriving to Atlanta. Though new hitting coach Kevin Seitzer is committed to improving Upton, nothing is guaranteed. The discussions of trading for Jackie Bradley Jr popped up yesterday again. These talks went on earlier this offseason but simmered down until now. David O’Brien responded yesterday on Twitter saying “Think that interest was early in winter, before Braves made other moves”.
"The Braves are interested in trading for Jackie Bradley Jr. according to Peter Gammons, who says that the Red Sox might be willing to pull the trigger on a trade once the team is certain of their outfield’s health heading into the season:When the Red Sox know the health and the predictable production of all their outfielders this spring, they may well make a trade or two; the Braves have called and made it clear they have strong interest in Jackie Bradley, but that is a post St. Patrick’s Day discussion."
