Atlanta Braves Fan Doesn’t Recognize Chipper Jones

With the turnover, the trades, the free agent signings, the new prospects, the old prospects and everything else that goes into the crazy world of baseball, our memory sometimes slips…even our most fondest memories of our greatest players.

In the games of baseball and football, players wear helmets to protect their head from serious injuries.  But in football, they wear these protective helmets 90% of the time (10% while they are on the sidelines).  Baseball, it’s about 35% of the time a player will wear his helmet (while he’s at the plate).  BUT, unlike in football, baseball helmets don’t cover the player’s face.

Where I’m going with this is that you should be able to recognize a baseball players face.  Especially if your favorite team is the Atlanta Braves.  And most especially if it’s your favorite player.

Well..this guy didn’t recognize Chipper Jones!!

Former Braves legend, Chipper Jones was in the airport on Wednesday afternoon and while there he noticed a man wearing a Braves hat.  The two made eye contact and – the fan went ecstatic and made a huge scene – NOPE.  He looked away like he was just another stranger.

So, of course Chipper had to investigate why this guy isn’t recognizing him.  Take a look at what Chipper said on Twitter.

It’s kind of interesting that Mr. Jones wouldn’t have a problem with anyone coming up to him while he’s out…I’ll have to remember that.
