Gwinnett Braves catcher, Christian Bethancourt, has returned to action from his stint on the disabled list.  On August 19th the Braves prospect was placed on the DL with a left hand contusion.  The Minor League rule for players going on the DL is 7-games and that’s all Bethancourt needed.
Prior to being shut down he had a slash line .268/.292/.393 in 313 games in Gwinnett.
Bethancourt had a brief stay in Atlanta over the summer and opened the eyes of many. Â In 13 games he had a slash line of .240/.283/.260 but was really impressive behind the plate. Â Christian is definitely a key component to the Braves future and he could be wearing the Atlanta jersey full-time in 2015.
Christian went 1-4 on Monday night during his first game back on the field. Â Then Tuesday night he hit a homer and went 3-5 with two RBIs. Â He played catcher both games.
.@ChristianBeth27 makes his presence known, coming off the DL, with a solid HR in the 3rd!
