Braves’ Medlen Shaves Head For Rally Foundation

Rally Foundation

Founded in 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia, the Rally Foundation does wonderful work to raise awareness about childhood cancer, and to raise funds for research into finding a cure for this terrible disease.  I encourage you to support them, and check out their website to learn more about the wonderful work they do.  The Rally Foundation started in baseball, and many in baseball support them.  One of those supporters is the Atlanta Braves’ Kris Medlen.

Medlen recently had his head shaved to support the work of the Rally Foundation, and he’s challenging his teammates and you to join him!  In fact, according to the Rally Foundation website…

"Kris is challenging his fellow teammates, minor leagues, college teams, little leagues and fans to shave your head and raise awareness and funds for kids with cancer. Any team or community group can participate and make a difference!Kris is going to match the first ten teams who take him up on his challenge and raise $1,000 for childhood cancer.Where will your money go? The money you raise will help fund cutting-edge childhood cancer research and help kids with cancer at your local hospital.Together, with the Rally Foundation and the Vs. Cancer Foundation, we can make an impact in this battle and truly save kids’ lives!"

Shaved in Solidarity

The Atlanta Braves official Twitter account tweeted out some pics of Kris getting his head shaved to support the Rally Foundation…

I think the work that the Rally Foundation is doing is simply wonderful, and as a Braves fan, it’s great to see Medlen (as other Braves before him) get involved in their work.

There are many ways that you can get involved as well, and no, you don’t have to shave your head.  It’s a great sign of solidarity with those suffering from the horrible disease of cancer, but programs such as the Rally 4 Quarters 4 Research, Rally Birthday Club, and Rally Bakery Bunch are just a few of the other ways you can get involved.

The work the Rally Foundation does is inspirational, and I hope that all of the Atlanta Braves will join Kris Medlen in supporting them.  I’d love to see that first Spring game full of shiny Braves’ heads!   I also hope fans everywhere will feel inspired as well, and do whatever you can to support the Rally Foundation.

Go Braves, and Go Rally Foundation!
