Beachy has been with the big league club since 2010, where he made 3 spot starts for the club. In the 38 that followed over his next two seasons, Beachy went 12-8 with a 3.07 ERA with 237 strikeouts in 222.2 innings, until he was placed on the disabled list on June 17th, 2012 with an elbow injury that ultimately resulted in Tommy John surgery.
After a couple of setbacks, Beachy returned to the majors in 2013 in wake of Tim Hudson‘s season ending injury, throwing 30 innings of 4.50 ERA ball before ultimately being disabled with elbow discomfort. Beachy is scheduled to be healthy and ready to begin Spring Training, and pencils in as the Braves number 4 starter behind Kris Medlen, Mike Minor, and Julio Teheran. Alex Wood is currently being speculated as being the number 5 starter until the newly signed Gavin Floyd returns from his own Tommy John surgery.
