It took 10 innings but the Atlanta Braves took care of business once again Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  It must be a huge boost of confidence since this same Pirates team dominated the Braves earlier this season.  The Braves got great pitching from Mike Minor who seemed to have his best stuff of the year but was able to control Pittsburgh and held their potent offense to only four runs.

The Braves bullpen once again shut the door, proving to the fact that the Braves still have a really good pin without the injuries.

Andrelton Simmons came thru huge Tuesday when he came up with the bases loaded (after the Pirates were scared to pitch to Evan Gattis…who wouldn’t be) as he hit a blast in between center field and right field scoring the winning run in the 10th inning.  The Braves entire team ran out to celebrate with Simmons and Kris Medlen came with a cold water bottle that he shot right in Simmons face…the slow motion video was great of the celebration!

Supposedly, this was Andrelton’s first EVER walk off hit.  He said afterwards “My life actually, I hit a couple go-aheads but never to end a game.  That’s pretty cool, nice feeling!  It was weird, seeing everybody run, chasing me down.  It was kind of an awkward feeling, I didn’t know what to do.”

“It’s nice to see everybody contributing,” Simmons said.  “It’s going to show how dangerous this lineup can really be.”
