After a solid 4-1 victory Friday night, the Braves lost to the Astros 3-2 Saturday night.
- In the low scoring series so far, the bullpens have been great. Â Neither team has allowed a run outside of the starters. Â The Astros bullpen has been especially good, only allowing three baserunners in 5 2/3 IP.
- Paul Maholm lost his debut for the Braves, making it a poor showing for all major traded starters making their team debuts this year. Â Zack Greinke, Anibal Sanchez, and Maholm all lost their first starts, while Ryan Dempster and Francisco Liriano each took no-decisions.
- Justin Maxwell (pictured above) single-handedly beat the Braves Sat. night, going 4-4 with 2 HR and all 3 RBI. Â Only receiving 200 PA before tonight, he raised his slashline from .230/.310/.455 to .247/.324/.500.
- This was the first win for Houston in Atlanta since May 2009. Â Times have changed, with Geoff Geary getting the win that day, while Jo-Jo Reyes started for the Braves.
