The Official Tomahawk Take Top Ten Prospect List
If you didn’t know, I have been dabbling in the Braves minor league system for a while now and have been working my way down the top ten prospect list (this Wednesday is Arodys Vizcaino) that I decided upon way back in January.
After doing over half of the reports I realized that while I thought these were the top ten prospects my fellow writers on the site might not agree. So we collaborated over the weekend and now have an official Tomahawk Take Top Ten Prospects list.
You can access this list anytime by clicking on the new tab at the top of the site and I will link each guy to his respective scouting report when they are all finished. So here we go:
Rank | Carlos Collazo | Fred Owens | Lee Trocinski |
1 | Teheran | Teheran | Teheran |
2 | Delgado | Delgado | Delgado |
3 | Vizcaino | Simmons | Vizcaino |
4 | Gilmartin | Pastornicky | Simmons |
5 | Bethancourt | Vizcaino | Pastornicky |
6 | Simmons | Gilmartin | Gilmartin |
7 | Pastornicky | Terdoslavich | Bethancourt |
8 | Spruill | Drury | Terdoslavich |
9 | Terdoslavich | Salcedo | Spruill |
10 | Salcedo | Bethancourt | Salcedo |
I used a simple point system to determine the final list. A player gets 10 points for a number one ranking, 9 for a number two, 8 for a number three, etc. The final list comes out like this:
Rank | Player (points) |
1 | Julio Teheran (30) |
2 | Randall Delgado (27) |
3 | Arodys Vizcaino (22) |
4 | Andrelton Simmons (20) |
5 | Tyler Pastornicky (17) |
6 | Sean Gilmartin (17) |
7 | Christian Bethancourt (11) |
8 | Joey Terdoslavich (9) |
9 | Zeke Spruill (5) |
10 | Edward Salcedo (4) |
Teheran and Delgado were unanimous 1 and 2’s but other than that our rankings varied. Also, the tie between Pastornicky and Gilmartin was determined by individual rankings. Both Fred and Lee thought that Pasto should be higher than Gilmartin so majority rules and TP gets #5 while Gilmartin gets #6.
Let us know what you think. Would you move some guys around? Anyone here that shouldn’t be? Did some one miss the cut that shouldn’t have?
