My (serious) Atlanta Braves Christmas List

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of posts recently we just got out for Christmas break and I have been sick so the writing has been lacking. I apologize. Anyways, Fred put up the Fansided wide Christmas list and obviously my wish wasn’t exactly serious.

Fred also put up a detailed list of what he wanted most this Christmas so I thought I would do a bit on what I want.

So when I was younger and made my Christmas lists I would always put one or two ‘big things’ that I would put at the very top. These were things that I would LOVE to have but were probably not actually going to happen. These were the laptops, and 50 inch flat screens, and four wheelers, and rawlings pro preferred gloves.

So the two big items on the list will be:

  • Trade for Nick Swisher without getting rid of any of our big pitching prospects or Simmons, Salcedo, Terdo, Bethancourt, Lipka, etc.
  • Resign Michael Bourn to a long term deal before he hits free agency

the rest of the list after the break…

Obviously these two things aren’t very likely to happen. Bourn is a Boras client and there have been no rumors of the Yankees being interested in Jair Jurrjens. Even if they were I doubt they would want to trade Swisher (who loves New York) for him.

After my big Christmas wishes I would always put a ton of safe bets that I still wanted. These things included the latest video game, or a new bat, movies, toys, and those sort of things.

  • To not trade Martin Prado
  • Pick up someone to play left field everyday. No platoons, no Seth Smith, someone who can hit righties and lefties
  • Find some old guy with a glove who can play shortstop if Pastornicky struggles
  • A rebound from Jason Heyward
  • A solid, steady year from Dan Uggla
  • Continued success from Freddie Freeman
  • The pitching staff to avoid injury and fatigue (this includes the bullpen Fredi)
  • Chipper Jones a healthy and awesome final season
  • All-around health on the team
  • To get past the first round in the playoffs

I think this is a pretty good list and if most of the things on it happen then we should be pretty satisfied with the 2012 season. Let me know what your Christmas wishes are for the Bravos.
