After a stirring comeback by the big club tonight – no I didn’t have to sacrifice the goat – here’s a peek at what happened in the minors. The Hillcats continue to struggle and Cory Rasmus sank to 0-4 after losing to the Keys tonight. Ramus went 4 innings, gave up 5 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks and a home run.  For the Cats Geraldo Rodriguez and Barrett Kleinknecht hit their first home runs.

The Rome Braves pummeled Augusta, Oddly they did it with only 3 walks  and no home runs. The M-Braves kept up their wining ways beating Jackson 6-1.The only run J. J. Hoover gave up in his win came on a homer. He struck out 8,  walked no one and allowed 3 other hits among the went 7 innings striking out 8. Willie Cabrera was 3-5 with a two doubles and Mycal Jones had the only other extra base hit with a homer.

Gwinette made it a sweep by all teams with Braves as their second name (maybe the Hillcats should consider a change?) by beating Pawtucket 4-2 in 15 innings.  Julio Teheran started and went 7 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, walking 4 and striking out 7. Anthony Varvaro , Juan Abreu, and  Jairo Asencio went 2 scoreless each with Ascencio getting the win. Scott Proctor soon to be in Atlanta – pitched a perfect 15th for the save. Stefan Gartrell stayed hot hitting one of the two 15th inning home runs that won the game. The other came from a resurgent Wilkin Ramirez although his night included 3 strikeouts.  Matt Young went 2-5 as well.
