Pre-Season All-Star Competition

Hello again from beautiful snowy Michigan!

I wanted to let all of you in on a competition that the FanSided Network has cooked up.

To kind of bridge the gap between now and the start of the pre-season, FanSided.com wants all the baseball blogs to create “Divisional All-Star” teams by having each blog’s readers vote on the best-of-the-best per position in their respective divisions.

The competition starts with each team’s writers submitting their votes for the best at each position in the division. The votes are then counted and each division’s All-Star team is created. It doesn’t end there, though. Our NL East All-Star team will then be pitted against the NL Central and NL West to decide whose team reigns supreme in the National League. And just like real baseball, the remaining NL and AL teams will square off in the World Series. It will be the perfect competition to kill time before baseball starts!

Each All-Star team will have a lineup (C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, and RF), as well as a five-man rotation, a closer, and a setup man. If you’re interested in participating, start sharing your All-Star team selections in the comment section below! Your vote is important, too! In fact, if there are any positional ties, it will be up to you guys–the readers–to decide the winner.
