Happy Thanksgiving!

We’d just like to take a moment to wish you all a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving. Hopefully you all are in the company of loved ones, enjoying some delicious food and some good football today. Whatever your Thanksgiving traditions may be, we hope you are enjoying them and keeping safe. And to all of our armed forces both abroad and away from home (as well as those lucky enough to be with their families on this most American of holidays), we would like to thank you for your service and sacrifice and wish you safety. We’ll keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

There’s plenty to be thankful for these days, even if it doesn’t always seem like it. I’m going to avoid getting gushy and keep my list to mostly baseball topics (after all this is a Braves blog), but here’s what I’m thankful for:

I’m thankful for family and friends, thankful for my health and my livelihood. I’m thankful that Jason Heyward came as advertised and should be a star in Atlanta for years to come. I’m thankful for Brian McCann and what he brings to the Braves every season. I’m thankful for the emergence of Martin Prado. I’m thankful for the Braves pitching staff, from the senior statesmen (Derek Lowe and Tim Hudson) down to the young guys like Tommy Hanson, Jair Jurrjens, Mike Minor, Kris Medlen, Craig Kimbrel and Jonny Venters.

I’m thankful for the Braves farm system and their ability to constantly bring up talented young players. I’m thankful to Bobby Cox for all he did in his extensive time as the manager of the Braves. I’m thankful the Marlins fired Fredi Gonzalez. I’m thankful I’ll get to see Chipper Jones play another season. I’m thankful for the reasonable ticket prices at Turner Field. I’m thankful the Braves are competitive.

But most of all, we’re all thankful for you, our readers. The fact we can write about the Braves on a regular basis and you all read and help this blog grow and improve is something I simply can’t quantify my gratitude for. From everyone at Tomahawk Take, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones and go Braves!
