Martin Prado Hits Braves First Grand Slam

Martin Prado hit the Atlanta Braves first grand slam of the season against the Brewers and lead the last place Braves to an 8-2 win. Prado’s grand slam was the first for the Braves in almost two seasons.

Chipper Jones also left today’s game with an injury.  He has yet to rebound from his worst season as a pro last year and is likely headed to retirement after this season.

Tommy Hanson pitched a gem, giving up four hits, no runs and 8 Ks. Another positive development is the bat of Troy Glaus, whose average steadily climbs above .250

In other Braves news:

  • Jair Jurrjens reinjured his hamstring and is likely staying on the DL. Apparently, his hamstring “popped.” Great.
  • Eric Hinske was supposed to get the starting nod this week, but he wasn’t tonight for some reason. He didn’t even play. Matt Diaz took the left field spot.
