Glavine Not Going Down Without A Fight

Just when everybody thought Tom Glavine’s career was in peril, the left-hander told reporters on Monday that he’s not quite done.

After saying he would ponder retirement if his shoulder wasn’t any better two weeks ago, Glavine is attempting to give it one more try.

“I’m less emotional than I was two weeks ago,” Glavine told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “I waited two weeks, and if this is it, at least I’m confronting that feeling and coming to grips with those feelings. I’m more willing to look at it matter-of-factly that it’s worth it to give it one more shot. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.”

The 300-game winner has reportedly played catch the past two days without any serious pain in the shoulder.

I still say Glavine has thrown his last pitch in the Majors, but you can’t blame the guy for giving it a final go-around.
