Every year, analysts and fans alike spend countless hours predicting who will have the honor of making their favorite team's Opening Day roster and who won't, and every year, several players who make the Opening Day roster are long forgotten by the next year. The Atlanta Braves 2024 Opening Day roster is no different.
While there was a lot of roster turnover during the 2025 season for undesirable reasons, most of the Opening Day roster was who you would expect without any major surprises. However, there were two Braves who made the Opening Day cut, whohad minimal impact to the team's season, and who were out of the organization by July.
Forgotten 2024 Braves on the Opening Day roster
Forrest Wall
The speedster earned a spot on the Braves roster after a spring training where he had a .959 OPS in 17 games. It seemed like an obvious fit for a Braves team that lacked speed to keep Forrest Wall around.
Unfortunately, Wall only got into two games in April before getting sent down. Wall got a few more chances in June and July when the team's outfield was decimated by injuries, but the 28-year-old struggled to produce, slashing just .250/.323/.250 in 31 plate appearances. To make matters worse, he had just a 50% success rate on stolen bases, something he excelled at in the minors.
He was sent down in early July and designated for assignment on July 22 to make room for Nacho Alvarez Jr. Wall saw action in just 13 games for the Braves in 2024.
Luis Guillorme
Luis Guillorme's tenure with the Braves was even shorter than Wall's last season. The Braves hoped the former Met would be able to fill the backup infielder role more reliably than they had had in previous seasons.
Unfortunately for Guillorme, it meant hardly appearing in any games to start the season. In fact, the infielder didn't see any action until the team's 11th game, when he entered as a pitcher. It did not go well.

Guillorme was eventually able to see more time on the field after Ozzie Albies broke his toe on a fluky foul ball, but his performance wasn't up to the Braves liking, and the club opted to ship him off to the Angels in early May.
Guillorme's tenure with the Braves consisted of nine games where he slashed .150/.190/.250 in 21 plate appearances. He also had a 36.00 ERA in his one inning of work.
