Given how much has gone wrong for the Atlanta Braves in 2025, it was inevitable that the team would need to utilize some stopgap solutions that were likely to be forgotten to history. During the course of the franchise's existence, there have been Opening Day starters that have faded into obscurity as well as forgotten Atlanta All-Stars, so the patchwork roster that the Braves has had to employ was always going to have some guys no one will care about down the line.

However, the 2025 Braves may have even more such players than even the injury-ravaged 2024 squad had and that is pretty impressive.

Here are the 2025 Braves players that fans almost certainly won't remember

This is not a list of the players fans wish they could forget like the 2025 Orlando Arcias and Eddie Rosarios of the world. This also isn't just a list of players that played the least for the Braves this season, because while Craig Kimbrel's time with Atlanta was very short this season, fans are going to remember he was around. Instead, this list are guys that both played little and don't have much in the way of name recognition in Braves Country.

Bryan De La Cruz

Jurickson Profar's suspension in the first half combined with the fact that Ronald Acuña Jr. forced the Braves to give Bryan De La Cruz more playing time early in the season than they probably hoped. After 16 games where he slashed .191/.240/.213 in the big leagues, De La Cruz's time with the Braves came to an end in May when the Yankees claimed him off of waivers.

Vidal Brujan

The Island of Misfit Toys vibes around the Braves' roster continued recently when the Braves decided to claim Vidal Brujan off the waiver wire for some reason. As of August 22, Brujan has made 15 plate appearances and does at least have three hits. However, the odds we see him much or remember that he played in Atlanta once the season ends remain very slim.

Kevin Herget

Anyone remember Kevin Herget's one relief inning with the Braves in 2025? Yeah, neither do we. It was a scoreless appearance at least at the beginning of July, so that was good. Unfortunately, Atlanta needed his roster spot and designated him for assignment about 10 days later and he landed back with the Mets.

Nathan Wiles

It is actually a bit of a bummer that Nathan Wiles hasn't gotten more a chance in the big leagues this year, because he has pitched pretty well in the minors. While there is a chance he comes back up to help with Atlanta's ailing rotation situation, as of now he has exactly one inning under his belt in the majors in 2025 and it was not a good one.

Jonathan Ornelas

Ornelas was a bit of an emergency addition to account for multiple issues with the Braves' roster including Acuña Jr. and Austin Riley's injuries. The good news is that he did go 2-4 in his four plate appearances with the Braves. However, Atlanta claiming Jake Fraley off of waivers wasn't exactly a huge vote of confidence that he needed to play a role beyond that.

Chadwick Tromp

Braves fans certainly remember Chadwick Tromp played for the Braves as he was their default third catcher for years. However, Tromp has since moved on to the Orioles and Red Sox, but he still managed to play a couple of games early in the year while Sean Murphy was still on the mend.

Jose Ruiz

The Braves claimed Jose Ruiz off of waivers in June to try and stop their bullpen from completely imploding in on itself. Not only did that not work, but Ruiz wasn't any good in his two appearances for Atlanta. The Braves opted instead to trade him to the Rangers in exchange for Dane Dunning who may also warrant inclusion on this list when the dust settles.

Hector Neris

Neris is certainly a pretty well-known name, but his time with the Braves was so quick and early in the season that we are including him here. After two bad relief appearances early in 2025, Neris got the boot and he has since flamed out with the Angels and Astros as well.

Michael Petersen

Michael Petersen has the double whammy of being a guy that no Braves fan had heard of before and he didn't last very long. Petersen's 6.2 innings in four relief appearances with Atlanta in 2025 were mediocre at best before the Braves traded him to the Marlins for cash considerations in the middle of July.

Sandy Leon

Sandy Leon is another one of those guys that Braves fans knew was around the team, but probably wouldn't have placed him with the 2025 squad. Leon has been a guy that Atlanta has stashed in the minor leagues since the beginning of 2024, but did manage to get into a pair of games earlier this year while Drake Baldwin was getting his feet under him with Murphy out.

Jose Azocar

Azocar's entire tenure with the Braves in 2025 only lasted about three weeks. Atlanta signed him to a minor league deal at the end of May, called him up, gave exactly one plate appearance in two games on the field, and then was designated for assignment on June 16. Azocar wasn't unemployed for too long as he landed a minor league deal with the Mets a couple weeks later.
