When MLB moved the 2021 All-Star Game from Truist Park in the wake of Georgia passing a new voting law, there were bad feelings all around. Aside from the political stuff that frankly everyone is sick of these days, there were the Atlanta Braves fans who were really looking forward to getting to show off their park and get to experience the All-Star Game festivities up close in addition to the throngs of folks coming from out of town to see the game.

No one felt great about what happened. No one. Frankly, there are still a lot of hurt feelings over the move. However, there seemed to be some hope that the All-Star Game could make it back around to Atlanta after all when Manfred revealed over the summer that Atlanta was a candidate to host the ASG in 2025. No promises were made, but at least there was progress.

Well, MLB announced today that Truist Park would indeed be the host of the 2025 All-Star Game.

For the city of Atlanta, this has to feel very good. After politics, fairly or unfairly, cost the city the chance to host the ASG back in 2021, the sentiment surrounding the game of baseball changed if only temporarily. Winning the World Series that year certainly helped heal some of those wounds, but the All-Star Game is a huge event where fans can come see the best players in the game play in the game along with the Home Run Derby and even the MLB Draft for us prospect nerds.

This is the 2025 ASG, so we aren't going to have much in the way of actual details for a while including exact dates to plan around. The one thing that is known for certain is that the All-Star Game will be back in Atlanta and for local fans, it is a long time coming.
