10. St. Louis Cardinals

I want revenge on the Cardinals for the Atlanta Braves for last year still. However, as a baseball fan, you have to give credit where its due and the Cardinals have earned it as once again, they are in the middle of the playoff race.

9. Chicago Cubs

Keep an eye out on the Chicago Cubs as it is important that the Atlanta Braves beat them in the overall standings and earn the 2 spot in the National League. The bad news is they have games with the Pirates left….

8. Atlanta Braves

For the first time all year, the problem for the Atlanta Braves is not starting pitching. The Braves need to work on situational hitting and putting the ball in play a little more consistent before next week begins.

7. Oakland Athletics

The magic number for the Athletics is still at 1. It seems likely they will be able to clinch the AL West at some point in the early week as they take on the Dodgers in a possible World Series preview?

6. Minnesota Twins

They are still chasing the White Sox and trying to win the AL Central but what is even cooler is old buddy Josh Donaldson getting ejected AFTER he hits a home run. Never change bringer of rain, never change.

5. Chicago White Sox

Not what you want to see if you are a White Sox fan but Tim Anderson had to leave the game Sunday with an injury. For the White Sox’s sake, let’s hope it is nothing too serious and he will be ok for the postseason.

4. San Diego Padres

The hype is real and they are here. Despite their best pitching prospects still in the minors, the Padres have clinched a postseason spot and a potential second round showdown with the Dodgers could be explosive.

3. New York Yankees

It is never fun rooting for the Yankees but if the Marlins win at least three games from the Atlanta Braves this week, that is exactly what we are going to be doing next weekend as the two teams will finish out with each other.

2. Tampa Bay Rays

Fans in Tampa (do not laugh) are hoping for a big few next weeks as they hope the Lightning can come back and win the Stanley Cup and hopefully the Rays can make noise in the postseason as well.

1. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers will wind up once again in the number one spot here in the last edition of these rankings. Of course, everyone will ask, can they get over the hump this year?

Next. Just as we drew it up. dark

So that completes the rankings for the season. The real fun begins now as the postseason is only days away.
