20. Texas Rangers

Not the ideal start for the Texas Rangers. Corey Kluber does not make it through one start and of course the fans in Arlington can not even get a inside view of the new digs they play in.

19. Boston Red Sox

A weekend sweep at the hands of your arch rival is certainly crushing, especially considering they were outscored 19-10 over the 3 game set.

18. Philadelphia Phillies

The Phillies having only played three games still, have yet to even had a chance to start all their pitchers so far. Here’s their consolation….they get the Yankees this week when they do debut.

17. St. Louis Cardinals

Yes, I’m still salty over the way the Atlanta Braves season ended last year at the hands of the Cardinals…I think they should have to forfeit the rest of their season due to their recent Covid outbreak.

16. Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays, which are the Atlanta Braves next opponent after the Mets series ends Monday night, are right at the the middle of these rankings. The young kids seem ready but it still might be a year or two early for them.

15. Cincinnati Reds

Tough start, but the Reds seem to be picking it back up now after a good series against the Tigers over the weekend. Sonny Gray also might be the early favorite for the NL Cy Young if he keeps up his current pace.

14. Milwaukee Brewers

A couple quick notes on the Brewers. Lorenzo Cain opting out amid all the outbreaks throughout the game but more importantly…well wishes to Brewers coach Pat Murphy

13. Washington Nationals

Bumpy start for the defending champs, but be careful. Both Juan Soto and Stephen Strasburg do not seem far off from rejoining the club.

12. Cleveland Indians

Jose Ramirez seems to be back to his 2018 version in the early going and Shane Bieber had decided to become the greatest pitcher of our generation.

11. San Diego Padres

We’ve known for a while the Padres would be good, and it seems this is where it might begin. I do not think they are ready to overtake the Dodgers but perhaps soon?
