First 30 — Outfielders

Outfielders (5): Ronald Acuna Jr., Marcell Ozuna, Ender Inciarte, Nick Markakis, Adam Duvall

We may finally get to see what Marcell Ozuna can do in an Atlanta Braves uniform after they handed him an $18 million one-year contract this past offseason.

Obviously, the Braves won’t have to pay that full contract now and Ozuna won’t have much time to prove that he’s worthy of a big contract in the coming offseason. You really start to feel bad for him at this point as he couldn’t have picked a worse time to take a one-year deal and test free agency again.

Hopefully he gets hot for these 60 games and earns himself a big contract in the offseason (just not with the Braves).

I think we all can rejoice in the fact we won’t have to suffer through Acuna missing an entire year of baseball (knock on wood). Can he possibly put up a 20/20 season in just 60 games? I wouldn’t doubt him.

It will be interesting to see how Snitker splits time between the other three outfielders on this list.

While I love Ender, he’s known to get off to slow starts in the past and that simply can’t happen in a 60-game season.

If he’s not getting it done then Acuna has to shift back to center where I think he’s a below-average defender and that likely means we see more of Markakis in the lineup.

But, the positive is that the Braves have a ton of outfield depth and the ability to play the hot hand.
