2019 Freddie was really good

I’m on record multiple times as saying that if I had a vote for the NL MVP in 2019 I would have voted for Freddie Freeman.

Were his numbers jaw-dropping? Probably not. Were they great? Absolutely.

To me though, it’s about who was the best all-around player who gave it his all day in and day out. In 2019, I believe that is exactly what Freddie Freeman did. His defense is simply great and stay’s that way no matter how things are going at the plate.

With that being said though, things hardly go cold for long periods of time for Freddie. He’s one of the most consistent players with the bat in his hands throughout the entire game.

What held him back from getting more consideration from the MVP award last year had to be the way he ended the season, though.

We know now that Freddie Freeman was playing with bone spurs in his elbow and supposedly has been for multiple years. It finally caught up to him at a very inopportune time last season.

Freddie opted to go under the knife shortly after the 2019 season concluded and recently revealed that he feels better entering a season in 2020 than he ever has.

That is normal speak this time of the year for most players, but I would opt to take it a little more seriously under these circumstances.

For that reason alone, I believe we will see a possibly better version of Freddie Freeman in 2020.
