Bryse Wilson

Everything about Bryse Wilson was very similar in 2019 to the aforementioned Kyle Wright. They both made around the same amount of starts and both were hit pretty hard, but again, both seemed to pitch better coming out of the bullpen.

Before we continue, I think it’s very important to remember Wilson just turned 22 and was pitching at the Major League level in 2019 as a 21-year-old — not an easy task at all.

Taking all that into account, it has been suggested by some that Wilson may have a better career path if he were to become a reliever, and he may even have the arsenal to be a late-inning option.

I myself, would actually agree with those people. Obviously, with all of the prospects and particularly the pitching prospects the Atlanta Braves have, some are gonna have to convert to the bullpen if they ever pitch on the Braves staff. That might be the best case for Wilson.

But for now, there is no harm for the Atlanta Braves to continue trying Wilson out at starting, as the team may have an emergency need for him, and who knows, maybe he becomes the best of the whole group in the long run?

After all, he is still currently ranked as the number six prospect in the Braves organization.

At the end of the day though, I think of the options we will discuss by the end of this, he may be the most likely to not get the nod to start off with.
