Kyle Wright

If you will remember, Kyle Wright was once viewed as the probable number one pick in the 2017 MLB draft, but ultimately fell to the Atlanta Braves with the fifth pick. He is still viewed as the number four prospect in the Braves organization and the second-highest pitcher.

Wright, to the surprise of many, opened the 2019 season actually with the Atlanta Braves where he made three starts to begin the season, and unfortunately only one of those was a good start and it was against the Miami Marlins.

Kyle Wright would come back up in July and get hit hard against the Nationals before becoming a September call up where he pitched 3 innings out of the bullpen and only allowed 1 earned run.

Their is still a lot of promise in his young arm, and for that reason, he may be part of a bigger Braves trade that may occur in the following weeks as I am sure he will be the target of many other teams in trade talks.

The freshly turned 24-year-old will surely be one of the last few competing for this fifth spot during spring training if he is able to stay healthy and be left out of the trade talks with other teams. I’m not yet ready to call him a favorite, but he is certainly in the mix.
