Charlie Morton

Yes, Charlie Morton was an Atlanta Braves for a brief time in 2008 before being included in the Nate McClouth deal. This is not the same Charlie Morton the Braves previously employed though.

He has become a nasty outstanding pitcher in the later days of his career. He has done wonders during his time in Tampa and Houston.

One never knows what to expect with the Tampa Bay Rays but most likely the Yankees will be division champs by late July and if they are not in playoff contention, surely the Rays will look to salvage something out of Charlie Morton.

That’s because like the majority of players on this list, Charlie Morton will be a free agent at years end.

Also, not that it matters much but if reports are true, Charlie was hoping for a call last winter when he was a free agent from the Braves as the report said he wanted to come back. I’m sure both parties could wish for a redo on that front now.

But hey, it’s never too late to make amends for a previous misstep and try to fix your wrongs.
Bottom line is, if Charlie Morton is available come July, I would fully expect the Atlanta Braves to be a front runner to acquire him.
