1. Ronald Acuna wants the 40-40 season.

More from Tomahawk Take

He made it clear when he stole two bases in the first inning Thursday night, and eventually added a home run later in the game.

I don’t think anyone was wondering if he would get to the 40 home run mark, but it had become a legit question if he was going to make it to 40 stolen bases. The two stolen bases Thursday made it seem much more realistic.

It still won’t be easy, as the games are winding down, and it truthfully might hurt the Atlanta Braves a little as I’m sure the Braves are going to run Acuna almost any time he is at first and second base is open.

We still have three games with the Phillies next week, so it will be interesting to see if he can get 1 or 2 more off JT Realmuto, who may be the best thrower at the catching position in the game at the moment.

At this point, Acuna needs 1 stolen base for every series the Braves play for the rest of the season. It will be a fun side topic to stay focused on.

Now onto Washington D.C as the Braves look to take some more numbers off their magic number.

Obviously, we all hope to win the series, but the Braves can really just not afford to get swept. Anything other than a sweep and the Braves will still be in great shape.

The pitching matchup for Friday is a rematch of last Sunday as Mike Soroka will take on Max Scherzer. Let’s hope this one ends up a bit differently for the Braves.
