Atlanta Braves magic number continues to drop

1. The lineup is outstanding, that doesn’t mean their is no room for improvement though
The top four of the Braves lineup is the absolute best in the game. Yes, even better than the Yankees or Astros top four. However, one spot we need to improve on is the bottom half has to be a little bigger.
Nick Markakis returning possibly later this week should be a big boost, but Dansby Swanson, and whatever catcher is hitting needs to get going consistently to make this the deepest lineup throughout the entire game possibly.
Since returning from the IL, Dansby has been a tad off, but he roped a hard hit double last night and drew a walk later in the game. Obviously both were positive signs.
We don’t need the 6 or 7 hitters to be 25 or 30 home run guys, we just need them to knock the other guys in and clear the pitcher when applicable.
The good news is, if this is the only thing we have to complain about, then we are living pretty good right now. I just know in the playoffs, things will not come as easy and we will need to manufacture a couple runs and make “good” outs.
Quickly, Ronald Acuna added another home run as he looks to get a 40/40 season. Being truthful though, the stolen bases are getting tougher to get as the season winds down. It will be close.
Lastly, Josh Donaldson is making it monsoon in the month of September. It might be time to issue a hurricane warning. He basically iced the game with a 3 run shot late in the game.
All in all, it was another great night for the Braves and we kept the ball rolling. The same two teams will play Tuesday and the Braves look to trim a little more off that magic number.
