10. Cleveland Indians

The Indians have lost ground to the Twins after they had stormed back and tied things up. To make things worse, now Jose Ramirez is on the IL right when he was hitting like the 2018 version of himself.

9. St. Louis Cardinals

Are the Cardinals getting hot at the right time? It seems that way as they have got a lead over the Cubs after sweeping the Rockies this past weekend. Jose Martinez is also close to rejoining the club

8. Oakland Athletics

The good news is they swept the Yankees. The bad news is they got swept by the crosstown rival Giants. The A’s are still in good shape as far as the Wild Card race goes in the AL

7. Tampa Bay Rays

I’m sure Tampa would have loved to win at least 3 of 4 from Baltimore instead of the sweep they had, but at least Tyler Glasnow and Blake Snell seem to be close to returning for the Rays

6. Washington Nationals

It must be extremely aggravating to get on a good run as the Nationals are and yet, they have lost ground to the Braves over the last week. I do think its fair to say though, the Nationals have made it clear they are the third-best team in the NL

5. Minnesota Twins

The Twins need to take advantage of the soft schedule they have this week and try to gain a game or two on Cleveland for this stretch run. It looks like it’s going to be a battle until the very end for them

4. Atlanta Braves

I come extremely close to moving the Atlanta Braves up to the 3 spot this week, but I opted not too. What’s exciting about this winning streak is the fact the bullpen didn’t give up a single run last week until Mark Melancon did Sunday, but that was obviously still in a win

3. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are still the class of the NL, but if they falter any in September, they might find themselves looking up at the Atlanta Braves for home-field advantage. That could be huge as Sunday was only the 18th time they have lost at home all year.

2. New York Yankees

How do you get redemption after getting swept in Oakland? You go to the Dodgers house and take 2 out of 3. Not too mention the fact that Aaron Judge is red hot right now hitting homers it seems nightly.

1. Houston Astros

The Astros are back in the 1 spot this week. In my eyes, they are still the favorite for the World Series and will be an extremely tough out for anyone in the American League, including the Yankees.
