1. Was Nick Markakis injury a blessing in disguise?

Obviously, before we go any further, I am not glad Nick Markakis got injured nor do I wish injury upon anyone.

However, we would be mistaken if we didn’t ask if it was a blessing in disguise?

It has allowed Adam Duvall to show his 2018 was a fluke, and he has absolutely raked since being recalled and frankly, he has all year.

The offense hasn’t missed a beat since Nick went down and it might even be more powerful, especially when Dansby Swanson returns — hopefully this weekend.

An underlying question to all this might be how the Atlanta Braves play it going forward?

Remember, Markakis has a $6 million option next season (Really a $4 million option, once you consider the buyout) and IF Duvall continues to produce, will the Braves want to pony up all the money it will take to keep all these outfielders happy?

No need to get that ahead of ourselves though. Let’s just be happy that we had someone as capable as Duvall ready to step up and take over the spot Markakis’ injury left open.

dark. Next. Is the starting rotation good enough?

That’s the recap from a shortened game Thursday night. The only negative was we didn’t get to see the revamped bullpen. Maybe we will Friday night against the same Reds team. Let us know your takeaway’s in the comment below.
