Game 1—Max Fried (9-4, 4.29) vs. Adrian Houser (2-3, 4.01)

It has been a rough stretch for Fried, to say the least.

Even though he is 2-1 in his last five games, he has a 5.74 ERA during that stretch, including giving up 11 hits to Miami in his last start.

For his career, Fried is 1-1 with a 4.00 ERA, but his start in May really helped that stat line out. He had one other start against the Brewers and that was in Milwaukee.

It was a rough one, as he allowed four runs on four hits in three innings in the lone other start against the Brewers.

The sample sizes are rather small against Fried, but Christian Yelich is 2-for-8 in his career against Fried, while Ryan Braun is 0-for-5.

Facing off against Fried is Adrian Houser, who was recently moved from the bullpen to the rotation on June 26th.

It has not been a great experience for Houser with the starters, as he is 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in that span.

Much like Fried with the Brewers, there is not much experience for the Braves against Houser.

Tyler Flowers, Johan Camargo, and Ronald Acuna Jr. have hits, while Ozzie Albies and Freddie Freeman have walked once.

Hopefully the All-Star Break was a nice way to recharge the batteries for Fried, who needs to get back to his early-season form.

It can be anticipated that there will be a lot of offense in game one of this series, but the Atlanta Braves get the win in a shootout.
