2. Stay hot Ronald Acuna

Acuna started the Atlanta Braves onslaught Monday night with yet another leadoff home run. His 11th since the All-Star break last season.

It’s been said 1,000 times already, but since inserting Acuna back into the leadoff spot this team has taken on a whole new personality.

Acuna is currently on a hitting streak of 9 games and has a hit in 16 of his last 17 games to boot.

In 10 of those 16 games, Acuna has at least 2 hits. To take that one more step, he has 6 home runs in those 17 games.

While it’s no doubt Christian Yelich and Cody Bellinger are at the top of the NL MVP race in the National League at the moment, I think Ronald Acuna — and Freddie Freeman for that matter — have both inserted themselves at worst in the top 5 in that category.

A few weeks ago I was on a chat on MLBtraderumors.com and the question was asked: Why is Ronald Acuna in a sophomore slump? I couldn’t help but laugh at that question because if anyone thinks that Acuna is in a slump … well. they just aren’t watching.

Maybe all it took was a Pirate’s commentator and Jose Urena to make Acuna get out of this “slump.”
