Game 2-Jacob deGrom vs. Julio Teheran

What if I told you it would be June 17th and Julio Teheran might be the ace of the Atlanta Braves pitching staff?

It has been an unbelievable month and a half for Teheran, who gets to continue his torrid stretch against a team he has fared well against over his career.

On the season, Teheran is 5-4 with a 2.92 ERA, and over his last five starts he is 2-0 with a 0.98 ERA and a .146 batting average against.

Teheran outdueled deGrom on April 14th going six innings, scattering six hits, and allowing only one run.

For his career, Teheran is 10-7 with a 2.35 ERA against the Mets.

Conforto is 6-for-25 with a home run in his career against him, Ramos is 5-for-20 with a home run, and Frazier is 3-for-19 with a home run.

It has not been a vintage Jacob deGrom year, as last year’s NL Cy Young winner is 3-6 with a 3.38 ERA.

However, he has been better recently. While being only 0-1 in his last five starts, deGrom has an ERA of 2.35 in that stretch, with a strikeout to walk ratio of 35-6.

In his last start against the Cardinals, deGrom went seven innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs, while striking out eight in a no-decision.

Freeman has also hit deGrom well in his career, going 12-for-46 with two home runs.

Markakis is 11-for-42 with two home runs, McCann is 4-for-9, and Ronald Acuna Jr. is 4-for-11.

This has a chance to be an exciting matchup, especially if both pitchers continue their recent stretch of pitching.
