Game 2 – Touki Toussaint vs. Trevor Bauer

Saturday – 7:10 ET – High 50, Low 44 & 15% PRECIP

Trevor Bauer is on some next level stuff right now and is the very early favorite to win the AL Cy Young award.

Through four starts he has an ERA of 2.05 over 26.1 innings with 11 walks, 32 strikeouts, and a WHIP of 1.03.

He had one hiccup in Detroit where he gave up 4 runs over 5.2 innings, but in his other three starts he’s given up one or no runs.

Like Kluber, he’s only made one start against the Atlanta Braves over the past three years, and he also picked up a win tossing 6 innings of 2-run baseball.

He’s really elevated his game since then though, and has become one of the most dominant pitchers in the league.

Tyler Flowers has had a lot of success against him as he is 4-9 with a home run. Freddie Freeman is 3-5 with a pair of doubles off Bauer. And McCann is 5-19 with 2 home runs against the right-handed pitcher.

As for Touki, he was great in his 2019 debut. He came out of the bullpen to pitched 6 innings of one-run ball on 4 hits and 2 walks with 7 strikeouts.

Like all of our talented young starters, he has the stuff, he just has to command it, and we never know when that’s going to happen.

He has no history against any of the Indians hitters, so hopefully that’s an advantage for Touki.
