Draft ’em Early

The Atlanta Braves have two players that you’ll need to draft early if you want them. In most drafts I’ve seen, Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuna are both going in the first two rounds.

Both have the potential to win an MVP in 2019.

Freeman was the leader for the MVP award at the beginning of the 2018 season, but he got tired down the stretch and lost some power.

This year the Atlanta Braves plan to give him days off here-and-there so that he remains fresh down the stretch.

Freddie has been one of the most consistent players in baseball for the last three years. You can pencil him in for a .300 average and 25-30 home runs.

Acuna has superstar written all over him, and there is a chance he becomes that player as soon as 2019.

We’ll have to see how the league adjust to him after he hit .293 with 26 home runs as a rookie last year in just 111 games.

If Spring Training is any indication, he’ll be just fine. He’s hitting .350 this Spring with 3 home runs in 40 at-bats.

It’s very possible that Acuna hits .280 this year with 30-plus home runs and close to 100 RBI.

They hype for Acuna is huge, so you may have to reach up into the back half of the first round or top half of the second round to get him. But man, could he be a difference maker on your fantasy team.

If you’re looking for a sure thing with minimal risk, go with Freeman though.
