Middle Round Players Who Could Ignite

When you get into the middle round of your drafts, there are always players who could either make-or-break your team.

The Atlanta Braves have two players who you could grab in those middle rounds that I think could ignite your lineup.

The first of those is Ozzie Albies.

Last year the second baseman played like an MVP in the first half before pitchers adjusted to him. And he really struggled from the left side of the plate.

He’s really started to come on late in Spring Training and has looked really good.

Albies has always been able to hit as he batted .304 in over 1,500 minor league at-bats. I think the power numbers he put up to start 2018 got into his head, and you could tell he was trying to go deep every time from the left side.

If he can cut down on his left-handed swing, I think he has the ability to hit .280 with 15-20 home runs.

And then the ultimate make-or-break player in the middle rounds could be Josh Donaldson.

If healthy, Donaldson has the chance to not only carry the Atlanta Braves, but your fantasy baseball team.

The Braves have brought him along slowly in Spring Training as he has just 12 at-bats in six games. And I would be surprised if he plays more than 140 games this year as the Braves plan to give him several days off.

But in 140 games, Donaldson has the ability to hit .270 with 30-plus home runs.

And don’t forget, Donaldson is on a one-year deal, so he’s playing for a big contract next season.
