Atlanta Braves: 2019 Fantasy Baseball Preview

Josh Donaldson
Not far at all removed from being a consensus first rounder in fantasy baseball drafts, Josh Donaldson has come back to the middle rounds. Of course, everything about Donaldson centers around his health and if he can play in 140+ games or so.
If he is indeed healthy, I think Josh can be a semi-steal of a fantasy draft this year. Of course, a lot depends on the makeup of the Atlanta Braves lineup, but Donaldson will have all the tools around him to put up big numbers again.
Mostly, Josh has been ranked around the #100 overall mark by most accounts which would obviously have him somewhere in the 8th to 10th round range. I have seen him as high as the #7 rated third baseman to as low as the 17th ranked. For me, I think he is well worth a look at in the middle rounds and if he produces like he can, he could help you win a fantasy championship.
Mike Foltynewicz
The first pitcher on our list! Mike Foltynewicz dramatically bumped up his draft status for the 2019 season with an excellent 2018 season. One knows where he will help and that is strikeouts. The wins and ERA should be fine as well. One stat he may not help out is WHIP, but I think most are willing to sacrifice one category for 3 good ones.
While he is still nowhere close to DeGrom, Scherzer, Sale, or Kluber level, Foltynewicz will still be one of any team’s higher fantasy draft picks and one of any team’s better pitchers.
He is looking like he will be selected right around the same time as Josh Donaldson, which again is the 8th or 9th rounds. Most sites have had Folty ranked anywhere in the teens as far as Starting Pitchers go.
Ender Inciarte
If you are planning on drafting Ender Inciarte, you probably know that you will be drafting him for runs, batting average, and the occasional stolen base. We all know he probably won’t give owners much for home runs or RBI. If you are in a league that counts defensive stats or errors than Ender will probably help you even more.
Again, much like Donaldson and Foltynewicz, I am seeing Ender ranked just a few spots shy of the #100 overall ranking. That means if you want Ender, you’re probably going to have to select him right around the 10th to 12th rounds on the low end. Ender could be a nice piece to play on days where players are off or if you are stacked at the top 2 outfield spots, he could be a nice third piece?
