May

The Braves have a soft start in May with two against the Padres and three against the Fish.

But then things get difficult with a west coast trip to face the Dodgers and Diamondbacks (x4). And they take on the Cardinals and Brewers at home before going back out West to face the Giants (x4).

This will be a very difficult stretch for the Atlanta Braves as they historically struggled on the west coast and have to go there twice.

Luckily, four of those games are against a Giants team that I think could be terrible this season. To date they have made no moves to improve a lackluster 2018 team — but don’t forget, that team embarrassed us at SunTrust Park last year.

The Braves finish the month with three games at St. Louis, a weird two-game set with the Nationals at home, and then one game with the rebuilding Tigers.

It’s weird that the first matchup of the season between the Braves and Nationals will be a two-game series. At least it will be at home as the Braves try to get the jump on their division rival.

So that’s six games against teams who are rebuilding and eight against teams who could be rebuilding in the Diamondbacks and Giants.

Prediction: 16-12
