5. Archie Bradley, Diamondbacks

With A.J. Pollock and Patrick Corbin free agents this winter and Paul Goldschmidt a free agent at the end of next season, it would seem wise for the Diamondbacks to explore the idea of rebuilding.

They have several potential desirable trade assets like Zack Greinke and David Peralta, but Archie Bradley will be asked about often, as well.

In 2017, Bradley had by far his best season after moving exclusively to the bullpen.

He carried an ERA of 1.73 in 73 innings, which led to a WAR of 3.6. He struck out 79 batters, while walking 21 and had an outstanding FIP of 2.61.

His ERA ballooned to 3.64 in 2018, which was the result of giving up a home run per inning (1.1). His other numbers, though, were comparable to his ’17 numbers.

Bradley is under contract through 2021 and he hits arbitration for the first time this offseason where MLB Trade Rumors projects his salary to be two million.

The cost for Bradley would be interesting. I would think a middle-tier pitching prospect like Freddy Tarnok or Huascar Ynoa and a lower-level prospect would work.

It might also be in Arizona’s best interest to not sell low and maybe explore a trade at the summer’s deadline if Bradley has upped his stock.
